Why Use An Independent Broker? Role of the Broker

• Brokers represent the client, not the insurance company - As an independent broker of trade credit and political risk insurance, we represent the policyholder rather than any one insurance company. We have brokerage relationships with Ex-Im Bank and all of the major private credit insurance companies operating in the United States. As such we are able to obtain quotes from the major insurers. We shop the market on behalf of our clients.
• Brokers who specialize in trade credit and political risk insurance know the market, which enables them to help their clients make the best selection based on the variables of price, coverage, financial stability of the insurer, claims-paying reputation of the insurer, and general level of service of the insurer.
• Independent brokers (as compared to captive insurance agents) are not obligated to place insurance with any one insurance company. The broker is truly free to represent the best interest of the customer rather than that of the insurance company.
• Buying trade credit and political risk insurance through an Independent Broker does not cost more than going direct to the insurer on your own. Insurance companies pay the broker a commission for arranging and servicing the insurance.
  The insurance companies offering trade credit and political risk insurance do not offer lower rates to customers who buy without the assistance of a broker.
• Brokers provide ongoing service to customers after the credit or political risk insurance policy has been issued. Some of the ongoing services provided by independent brokers include: working with clients and the insurers to ensure their policies continue to provide adequate coverage, assisting clients with policy reporting requirements, assisting clients with claims filing and follow-up, and working with clients and their bankers to enable the policy to be used to facilitate financing of domestic and foreign accounts receivable and foreign based assets.
